Since today is Valentine’s Day I am bringing you a special treat! You’ll meet my critique partner, author, D’Ann Lindun, get my recipe for Chocolate Mousse and be introduced to some man candy just for the holiday! Of course, the man candy comes on the cover of our books so you’ll get an introduction to those too! So come on in and get your Valentine’s Day treats!
Chocolate Mousse(adapted from Hershey’s. I made it and took the pic so you could see just how yummy it is!)
72 Hershey’s kisses, unwrapped
3 cup mini marshmallows
4 tsp. Kirsch (cherry brandy) or 1/2 tsp. almond extract
2 cup cold whipping cream
-combine marshmallows and milk in saucepan
-cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until melted and smooth and mixture is smooth. Remove from heat.
-pour 2/3 cup of the mixture into a medium bowl; stir in brandy or extract and set aside
-to remaining marshmallow mixture add kisses and return to low heat, stirring constantly, until chocolate is melted
-remove from heat and cool to room temp (I put in fridge to speed things up)
-beat whipping cream until stiff (make sure your bowl and whisk are cold too). Fold 2 cups into chocolate mixture.
-fold remaining cream into reserved almond-marshmallow mixture
-Fill parfait glasses (number of glasses depends on serving size) 3/4 full with chocolate mixture
-spoon or pipe cream on top
-I shaved a Hershey’s kiss on top for the pic
Refrigerate 3-4 hours until set and prepare yourself for a rich, chocolate treat!!
Blurb, Shot Through The Heart:
When Laramie Porter’s sister-in-law Julie is beaten so badly by her husband she miscarries her baby, Laramie takes her home from the hospital. But just a few minutes after the women arrive home, Julie’s husband, who also happens to be a drug addict and the local police sheriff, shows up at the house on a murderous rampage. He kills Julie and attempts to murder Laramie. When he doesn’t succeed, he hauls them into the mountains and throws them off a cliff. Julie’s body lands in a pond, but Laramie hits a ledge, where she perches, terrified. Derrick Garrison is in the mountains moving his cattle when his dog finds Julie’s body in the pond. Creeped out, Derrick at first doesn’t believe his ears when he hears a girl crying for help. But he finds Laramie and pulls her to safety. Before she can tell him anything, a lightning strike starts a forest fire and they flee to a hidden valley. Fleeing a drug hazed killer, the fire, and a gun-toting old lady bent on collecting a reward, Laramie and Derrick do their best to evade all three . . . and fall in love along the way.

Falling in love with romance novels the summer before sixth grade, D’Ann Lindun never thought about writing one until many years later when she took a how-to class at her local college. She was hooked! She began writing and never looked back. Romance appeals to her because there’s just something so satisfying about writing a book guaranteed to have a happy ending.
D’Ann’s particular favorites usually feature cowboys and the women who love them. This is probably because she draws inspiration from the area where she lives, Western Colorado, her husband of twenty-nine years and their daughter. Composites of their small farm, herd of horses, five Australian shepherds, three ducks and cats of every shape and color often show up in her stories!

A supposedly hassle-free job for mercenary Cristian Slade becomes a mission of mercy when he saves a life instead of taking one. Slade’s new mission might be his most dangerous yet, because the danger is to his heart.
Tragedy has sent esteemed surgeon Alana O’Grady to a remote a remote Nicaraguan island where she immerses herself in the lives of a native American tribe, using her talents for goodwill instead of wealth and prestige. But life turns upside down when her work requires she protect a rugged mercenary who commands her attention when she’s awake and dominates her dreams while she sleeps.
Doctoring Cristian puts her entire tribe in danger from the man who’s hunting him. Is it her professional oath or her unprofessional attraction to him keeping her from sending him away to heal on his own? Alana’s fire warms Cristian’s heart, but he’s a hardened assassin and has no business falling for someone like her. Can they fight hard enough to keep what they might have together?
